Melinda K. Knight, MD, a board-certified specialist in urology, provides compassionate, leading-edge general and surgical urologic care to patients at Lakeshore Urology. She offers expertise in the very latest technology in all areas of adult urology including urologic cancers, urinary incontinence and all forms of voiding dysfunction including:
- Less invasive treatments for prostate cancer including robotic surgery using the
da Vinci® Surgical System and prostate seed implants; - Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP);
- Laparoscopic surgery;
- Minimally invasive options for urinary incontinence such as transvaginal slings and
Interstim® (sacral nerve stimulation); - Laser technology for common urologic conditions including kidney stones and prostate enlargement;
- No scalpel vasectomies; and
- State of the art treatment for pelvic prolapse, commonly known as "dropped bladder" or "fallen uterus."

A native of Georgia, Dr. Knight completed her undergraduate education in 1989 at the University of Georgia, in Athens, graduating summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in biochemistry. After earning her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1994 from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, she returned to her home state to fulfill an internship and residency in General Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. In 2001, Dr. Knight completed a five-year Urologic Surgery residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. During this time, she also served on the faculty at Mayo Clinic as an instructor of Urology. Dr. Knight is widely published in professional journals on a variety of urologic topics. She currently serves on the Cancer Committee at United Hospital System in Kenosha.
Dr. Knight is a member of a variety of professional organizations including American Urological Association, Wisconsin Medical Society and Kenosha County Medical Association.
